Three Years Age Relaxation Granted to Female Teachers

Rawalpindi, The Punjab Education Department (PED) has announced three years age relaxation from 35 years to 38 years for the appointment of female teachers in government schools throughout Punjab province including Rawalpindi district. A formal circular has already been issued in this respect.

The leaders of Punjab SES Teachers Association including Aslam Gujjar and Shafiq Bhalwalia admired and welcomed the step of PED giving relaxation and demanded sincerely that new induction of female teachers be done on merit rather than on political grounds.

Punjab education department is an autonomous statutory body which was set up under an ACT of 1991 of the provincial assembly with the objective to encourage and promote education in the private sector operating on non-commercial/non-profitable basis. The head office of Punjab Education Department is located at Lahore.

The Punjab Education Foundation has been functioning under the Punjab Education Foundation Act-XII of 2004 with the aim to promote education, especially encouraging and supporting the struggles of the private sector in order to provide education to the poor, through public private partnership.
