Turkish Cultural Day organized by NUML

Islamabad, The National University of Modern Language (NUML) has organized the Turkish Cultural Day on Wednesday and managed different types of activities just like language speeches, skits, songs, poems, documentaries, gathering of diplomats and Turkish Traditional food.

The chief guest on the occasion was Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Babur Hizlan. Azeri Ambassador Dashgin Shikarov, Ambassador of Cyprus Musrafe Arewan, officials from Pak-Turk Education Foundation and Turkish embassy with their families and students of different departments of the university were also attended the event.

While addressing in the prize distribution ceremony, the Turkish Ambassador said that he is feeling very happy with the love and friendliness of Pakistani brothers and sisters. He felt great pleasure while observing the language proficiency of students and judging their communication in Turkish language and also felt great desire of Pakistani people for growing of relationships and collaborations with their Turkish brothers and sisters.

While speaking to the audience in the event, NUML Rector Major General ® Masood Hassan said the Turkish Department of the university was playing key role fo0r the development of Turkish language. He further added that hundreds of graduates of Turkish Department are now serving at different posts in the country and abroad and earning the good name for the country and the Department.

The ambassadors of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus awarded many prizes among winners of speech competition. The first prize was awarded to Ashfaq Ali and second prize to Muhammad Rashid with return tickets of Turkey. The third prize awarded to Shahzad Azeem for Rs.12,000. The fourth prize was awarded to Farkhanda Jabeen for Rs.10,000 and fifth was awarded to Usmania Kosar for Rs.08,000.

In the end of the event, the NUML dean awarded university shields to the ambassqadors of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus.
