USAID Awards 155 Scholarships to Students of ADE

Karachi, The Teacher Education Project of US Agency for International Development has awarded the 155 scholarships for the students who have already been enrolled in a two year associate degree in education and four year bachelor degree program for education in Sindh.

The US agency has also implemented various other programs of providing education in the flood damaged schools and other educational institutes of the country. These educational institutions have been played the pivotal role in the betterment of the country. These projects are very helpful for giving education for the training of teachers, students and other concerned persons who have already been working for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

The scholarship award ceremony was held yesterday in which the Director of Education Office of USAID said that they have been implement training programs and project for the training of teachers and educationists who can provide information and knowledge to the students living in different parts of the country especially in the flood affected areas. These programs will help the teachers and other educationists to build a powerful and technology wise developed Pakistan with the US government long term commitment with the local people.

The Education Secretary of Sindh province, Mukhtar Soomro was also present in the ceremony. The presence of the distinguished secretary education was the sign of the support of the government to the newly deployed program of USAID for providing education to all norms of the society and improving the standard of education in the country.

According to the latest information, 1900 students will get benefit of the scholarships being awarded through this program and this scholarship program will be implemented through the teacher education project with the cooperation of various other provincial or regional education departments or universities and elementary teacher education colleges. The scholarship awarded students will be given education in Associate Degree in Education and B.Ed (Hons) programs throughout Pakistan.
