To address the acute shortage of doctors in Baluchistan, Pakistan, Bolan Medical Collage was established. Baluchistan has over 10,000 people per doctor while Japan has 542 people per doctor.

In Azad jammu and Kashmir, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical College is one of the two public sector medical colleges. In Mirpur, the institute is located in an improvised built campus. The city is situated on the bank on Mangla Dam, in the south of State. PMDC recognized this college for 100 admissions. MBBS classes started on 31st Jan 2012 in the first year.
