Literacy Rate Increases To 62 Percent

Lahore, Punjab Education Minister, Mian Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman has said that their government will continue its policy for spreading education to all sectors and norms of society. Their government has given special emphasis to education and provided all basic facilities to the schools including building, infrastructure, furniture and raise the quality of education.
He further added that during last four years, their government spent Rs.14.5 billion for the up gradation, providing facilities and provided books to the deserving students studying in about 6749 schools of the province. Now during this financial year, their government has also decided to spend Rs. 5 billion for 2000 schools.
He told the delegation of school teachers and students in his office at Lahore that until the less privileged class of the society is not provided basic facilities of life like education and health, this class is unable to contribute in the nation building. It is the solution of all problems which we encounter in our daily life that common people should be supported to get education for which their government is trying hard to uplift their standard of education and the students who get top positions in the examination will be provided facilities to get higher education. The government has reserved the funds for the betterment of education sector. Now with the revolutionary policy of the present government, the literacy rate has been raised from 58 percent to 62 percent during last four years.
