LUMS Students to Win Biophysics Symposium of Poster Competition

Lahore, Hina Iftikhar and Annum Munir, the biology students of LUMS School of Science and Engineering (SSE) have won 2nd and 4th positions respectively at the poster competition. NED University Karachi arranged this event at the first International Biophysics competition on June 1st and 2nd, 2012.
About 200 students belonging from different educational institutes including four SSE students named Hina Iftikhar, Annum Munir, Saman Hussain and Zainab Rahil participated in this event. Few other educational institutions associated with international associations like Universiti Sains Malaysia, University of Malaya-Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, SIUT (Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation), Agha Khan University, Jinnah Medical & Dental College, University of Karachi, Quaid-e-Azam University, Jamshoru University, NED university and others also contributed in the event.
The event was comprised of two days and various national and international scholars addressed to the participant of the conference. From the categories of two posters, LUMS students qualified for “Guided students – Scholar Tier Posters.” However the contest was very difficult but LUMS undergraduates competed with graduate students with great confidence. Winners were awarded with cash prizes.
