No Vice Chancellors on Both Medical Universities of Punjab

Lahore, There are two medical universities working in Lahore. The University of Health Science Lahore is still deprived of the Vice Chancellor after the retirement of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Hussain Mubashar Malik. Prof. I A Naveed who is a retired professor and now is working in the Pathology department on contract agreement is also performing the duties of acting Vice Chancellor. King Edward Medical University was up graded in 2006 and since its up gradation, government did not appoint any Vice Chancellor in this University on permanent basis. This University is functioning under acting Vice Chancellors.
Supreme Court of Pakistan was ordered to appoint Vice Chancellors in both universities in March 2012 but the government of Punjab did not act upon the orders of the court. But after passing of five months, there is no proceeding in this regard. Government of Punjab and Ministry of Health did not take any step in this respect which resulted into serious loss to both universities.
